Well as the music poll didn't go down too well let's switch back to talking about cars. A bit of a broad spectrum question this time and considering we're an Italian car site possibly an obvious one but I know how you all like to surprise me ;)

Which country do you think makes the best high-performance car at the moment and tell me your reasons why. As usual it's subjective so if you think a country with a history of building cheap yet fast cars is best then go for it. If you prefer well-built high-performers that cost a bit more then why not.

Over to you...

Italiano, Can't beat the Lamborghini Aventador or the Ferrari "La Ferrari" (Stupid name, eh?) or the Pagani Zonda.

The latter is the most gorgeous thing I've seen :)

Actually it's a difficult question that, it depends what kind of performance car you are looking for.

Germany still does very high performance saloons better than anyone, Sports car wise they have things like the Audi R8 that are epic, the crazy things like the Merc SLS Amg and all the various AMG black versions. A string of Porsches.

America are catching up, the new Viper looks awesome, the latest hot Corvette is one of the fastest road cars in the world and is closer to simple engineering than most euro cars.

The Uk on the surface shouldn't be there, but it is. For small niche lightweight low volume road rockets. The Ariel Atom, Noble M12 etc etc.

But Italy is still king for me. Though techinically the Lamborghini's are German these days :p but all the latest Ferraris look and sound fantastic IMO, The Paganis are phenomenal and the Lambo Aventador is epic and also spits blue flames. That clinches it for me.

As Mark's said it's a tough one.

The UK have suddenly seemed to have woken up, with cars like the McLaren 12C, BAC Mono, Noble M600, Areil Atom's. Whilst still churning out Aston Martin's.

US: Well what can I say, MUSCLE & V8's (& V10 in the Viper).

Germany: Fast Reliable (ish) cars, German Built & Audi own most of Lamborghini & VW own Bugatti.

Japan: They seem to almost over engineer their cars, but when you get cars like the Nissan GTR you appreciate the over engineering.

Italy: Lamborghini (yes I know German owned) but one word AVENTADOOR, sounds nuts, goes like stink & is beautiful to look at.
Ferrari: F12, 458, La Ferrari (The Ferrari The Ferrari), & lets not forget the all time classic the F40 (my personal favourite)
Pagani: Zonda & Whyra both look beautiful & sound lovely & both go like stink.

France: Bugatti, yes ok so VW own Bugatti & there's only really been 2 Bugatti Supercars, the EB110 & the Veyorn (all versions)

Sweden: Koenigsegg, need I say more??

Like its been said depends what your looking for but ultimately has to be Italy. Though the Nissan gtr is one hell of a car.
