Or is it just us?

Please note this is not a thread criticising fiats build or engineering but more the predisposition to attracting bad luck/vandalism

So for the past 20 years I've run old vws and although there were a few minor problems (wing mirror knocked off overnight in Charlotte Street, ABZ, lost wiper blade from pub car park) they were trouble free and largely untouched by vandalism. My dad ran peugeots from new (not even a 205 GTi :banghead :) for years with no problems and not even a scratch.

In the past couple of years we've both converted to fiats and since then I've had a run in with a pothole (I'm not sure if I mentioned it here ;-)) Dad's returned to the car to discover a few carpark scratches and most recently he's managed to put a dent in his boot - which although he admits was his fault and he's still

How did we go from almost trouble free motoring to too many incidents in one year?

And how do we stop the curse?

I love my GP, my dad likes his bravo

Help please ;-)

i had a van runinto my wing overnight but other than that no vandalism other than a badge or two being stolen but hey.... free de-badge!

I'm quite tempted to debadge my GP but I've defended it so vigorously at work and in the pub I'm not quite sure I can be arrissed with the hassle I'll get if I remove the fiat brand.

Plus I like it standing out as a fiat - normally lol

Aye but you live in Dundee

and your point is caller?

my fiats have all been in Dundee too and have been on the road more overall time than my vauxhall has. in that time they recieved less damage on the same street in the same city as that has.

Most of the dents to RGZ are car park related due to the annoyances of retail life. However, it's been keyed twice - both of which are in similar areas and the Richbrook Abarth dustcaps I had (anti theft with the grub screws) got nicked when I transferred them from the Punto. Swapped them for the ones with the spinner tops and take satisfaction in the fingerprints around the dustcap with no damage to the wheel/tyre and no loss of dustcap

Really wish I had a lock up though, hate having to park it on the street.

Charlotte street?

I know someone whos golf was TRASHED on one of the side streets just off of there...and I mean to the point it had to be scrapped. Used to belong to a member on here.

I used to think that about my Fiats. My mk1 Punto had a landrover run into the arse of her, the first Bravo was hit and run leaving a bit of damage on the rear quarter panel, and the HGT was written off in January whilst parked up in Garthdee. Actually, the more I think about it... :(
