Think Beau on FF owns that bravo :) . Good price if you could afford the running cost!

i shudder to think what the insurance would be for that!

it'd be cheaper to just get a coupe seeing as they have that engine as standard

Why the hell would it still be registered as a 1.8??? is he a complete prick? if he was involved in an accident that - god forbid - caused serious life long impairment or worse, he would not be insured and the people/familys involved possibly could not afford medical costs as a result, if i were to buy it the first thing i would do is get it registered as what it is!

about 90% of people dont register their cars whne they have done an engine transplant in them to save money

That's quite a scary statistic - I'd have to say they're all idiots if they've not declared an engine change, that's top top muppetry :nono:

seriosuly its mad look on ebay for engine conversions and ill bet nearly all of them are still registered as original engine ive seen a rare couple or so that have been done PROPERLY which is mad considering the money spending on the car you would at least want to be able to claim it back if someone crashed into you

Is not like there be any hassels what so ever, defo should be done! Dvla don't really care if the engine capacity goes up in size, is when you go down they ask for an engineering report!

Ming

nope, they are demanding an engineers report for the cinq too and wont give me a v5 until its done.

for all the bluster i got from the cinqs previous owner about how he was so perfect and above board, its puzzling how he didnt register it as a 1.2 until i had the car ;) makes me believe he had it insured as a 1.1 aswell tbh.

ive always insured it as a 1.2 and have a letter from the dvla to say its with them as a 1.2 now, but ive still no v5 because the engine went pop before i could take it for the inspection.

they must just do random inspections regardless of size change.

I knew the odd cases were called up for. Where did you get your report done?

What happened to the orginial V5?

i havent had it done yet because the head gasket went pop before i could get it in.

the original v5 was sent off when i got the car, the previous owner then decided to tell them it was now a 1.2 on the v5 he sent off because he hadnt bothered before (so im convinced he didnt tell insurance either it was a 1.2), leaving me with the problem of an inspection. i had it all decalred with insurance though and i was all above board.

i cant get a v5 until the inspection is done, there really wasnt any point with the head gasket gone because i wasnt sure if that engine was coming out again or not. apparently it can be done at any mot testing place.

I personally, think DVLA asks for an inpection because of new owner with the engine changed right away.

Do you know you have to pay for an engineering report yourself? And do you just need to take the car to a DVLA depot or something or have to be done independently?

Thanks
Ming

im not sure about costs mate, i think its really just verification that what you say is correct and they want a neutral opinion that you are telling the truth.

im sure a few quid chucked the garages way would get someone to take a note of the engine number and chassis number and priint it out on headed paper to be sent to the dvla.

thats the main bit of what they want, along with an engineering report. seeing as there are no structural changes to the car though, i dont think it needs any in depth checks done apart from engine number v chassis number.

to say i was pissed off he hadnt reported it before he sold the car was a mild understatement, lol
