Hmm got some thinner? you can buy them from halfords.

Or you can get some gunk, cover all the electrical contact and hose it down :) . ( i done this when the engine and box was out).

Babywipe won't do **** :p .

It's cool, built my own a few months back. Phil (PNL) had mentioned the one you got, but I wasn't sure about the quality of it and how good a fit it'd be but looking at yours it doesn't look too bad. Would've probably taken the stress out of the one I built as well lol

I'd probably keep the brace silver really, looks decent and matches the car colour. My OMP brace was red by default and I'd of preferred it in silver really to go with the rest of the car. How my bay currently looks...

...painted the battery cover (and the airbox which you saw in the earlier pic) to match the brace while I was waiting for that and the Eibach kit to be delivered - basically got bored.

With the airbox removed, I'm tempted to get new ignition leads as the ones that are on look a bit iffy to say the least.

Yuppy good engine those 1.2 16v :) .

Being at home with 2 kids is handy to work on the car. Is it a case of strap kids in seat and fit stuff to the car :D ? ???

Hmm after cleaning the throttle, try and clean all your earthing points as well :) .

It's the same yeah. Not too bad in the Stilo, though wish I had a bigger engine like the gorgeous sounding 2.4 5-cylinder but hey ho. I've got the custom cat-back exhaust on mine too, so sounds rather interesting at whatever speed. With the induction on though it sounds, as my mate puts it - purposeful

Those leads look about the going rate. Was interested in getting some when I saw Munkul's turbo'd 1.2 on FF a while back. Looking at the leads, it looks a little complicated but I may just get a mk2 Punto Haynes and have a reference that (there's no Hanynes manual for Stilo's). Mine does idle a little odd sometimes, but been like that since I got it. Never really had problems with the engine myself though I reckon the alternator could be on the way out :(

Is easy to check if it is the alternator :) .

Check output of battery when car is off and check out of battery with the car on then report back :D

Yeah, shall probably do that when I'm next round my mate Ally's - he's probably got the necessary equipment for such a task

Just it's been making a bit of a noise when cold. Definitely not the belt though as there's none of the screeching you'd associate with that. Thankfully looks pretty accessible and easy to swap out plus the part itself shouldn't cost a fortune :)
