Went and had a look at a GT2 tonight and decided to buy it...

After test drive etc it seemed mechanically sound so decided to go ahead, got it at a good price but it needs a little work...

Work i can tell from now is:
New front brake pads (will do it tomorrow) Abyss you free ? :D
New Space saver as is doesnt have one...
New wheels, may just tidy they ones up just now unless i find a cheap set
Body needs a bit of attention its ok to look at i.e walking past etc but when you actually look theres a few bits needing done, mostly the kit thats on it...
After that just needs tarted up a little, ie new floor mats etc

So basically it will prob be a nice little ongoing project :)

Anyway heres the pics...

hmmm i never noticed that will need to check, lol i just cheacked the depth, lol.

will check that tomorrow as can see what your your saying, thinking its just angle though as noones that stupid... are they ?

so it didnt break down on the way from inverness then :)

as for brakes i possibly could help but wouldnt be till around mid week got loads of stuff on today and tommorow :)

did the breaks today, also took it to gary to get it up on the ramp...

and found out it has a petrol leak (has old metal tank)
and need a new top mont on o/s

yeah was speaking to gary earlier and seems a big enough leak :) nice puddle on his floor :)

at least all in all it all seams pretty minor stuff :)

nice looking GT, has the engine bin tuned up a bit or is all fairly standard?

That intercooler certainly isn't standard!

Im not sure just how tuneable gts are...certainly its easier to get them tuned that an HGT is, im sure ive seen a few gts running about 170bhp without alot more than a remap. with a bigger turbo etc, im sure 200bhp is doable, how long an engine would last though putting that out is another matter

Yeah it was the intercooler, induction kit and yellow silicone hose made me wonder. Optional abarth bumpers too, good find ad say :sunny:

OK in regards to tank on the hunt for a plastic one, may have one...

Mods im not too sure about, from what i have been able to see:

Dump Valve,
Exhaust,
Induction kit,
Intercooler,
relocated oil cooler.

Thats pretty much it from what i can see, id reckon it 140bhp, but there easily tunable to 200+ if you put the money in.

I prob wont do much performance wise, if i decide to keep it will be seb2'd and decat that would prob be it. (165bhp 'ish)

and abyss yea is pissing fuel, found a temp solution though...

Put £5 in the car, and fill 3 jerry cans then run it on the low fuel light, seems to minimise lose of fuel

Nice looking motor the GT (always had a soft spot for them) and someone has clearly spent more than a couple of quid on it - is it a 'Pace' intercooler? If so they're top banana in quality, nice kit.
Be interesting to see just what sort of grunt it's putting out, I'd have thought 140bhp easy - seem to recall the last of the Punto GTs had around 130bhp so that intercooler and the revised induction should provide a few more bhp.
Nice. Very nice.

sorry there is a Turbo timer fitted and yea it has built in oil pressure

bhp im not to sure im just making a conservative estimate due to age of car etc, once i get the fuel tank sorted with a couple other little bits il give it a fule service, clean it up a bit etc see how we go, then its just the cosmetic side of it to do
