I am not a mechanic but this plastic 3 inch pipe is broken near the clip and fall from the place it should be.Is been a while now and i wanted to know what is the use of that pipe,where that pipe should send the air ? Should stop the car till i bring a new one and replace it?

That pipe should be for the air intake if it's the same as as the 1.3 in my 500 it should run from there to the front of the vehicle to take in fresh air

Is there a chance this can cause the car to get hot when pushed like on a big hill for example ? (I already order a new pipe)
Iam asking this because few days ago as i was driving to mountains i pushed the car to the limits and i saw the temperature needle to move towards the reds.When i decelerate to a normal driving temp was back at normal levels.So i open the hood and the only think i saw wrong was this pipe.Water, oil etc was ok.
