I want to weld the floor pan of Fiorino 1.7D 1995 and I need to remove the front seats...I have had a good look but must be missing something as I can not see how to get the seats out...I can not see any bolts apart from the two at the front that are mounted on the back of the front foot well...I can not see any bolts in the back foot well on the runners..I bet I have missed something obvious :) All help appreciated..

Stuart,

That is really difficult to remove those seats.
It looks easy, but isn't.
I tried on several occasions, but never had any luck...!
There must be a secret trick to get them out, I suggest going to a bodyshop and ask for help...??
:bang:

At least I was not missing something....I have tried loads of different ways to remove them...I may just wrap the seats in fire blankets and work round them...If anyone has managed to get the seats out it would be great to know for the future. :)

This is the response I got from Fiat UK.

My local dealers say they can not help me.

There are not many Fiorinos of this age in Ireland anymore and local body shops also say they do not know how to get the seats out.

I sent emails to several of the Body Shops that Fiat UK suggested and I have been ignored by all of them....I suppose they cant be bothered because its an old van...I will contact Fiat Brazil as well....If anyone on here is a registered mechanic with a VAT number Fiat UK will give out the information otherwise its top secret as to how to get your seats out. :)

I had another look at this project a couple of days ago and found that in each runner welded to the floor at the back there is a small tab of metal pressed out from the runner...So I got a metal drift and a hammer and made them flush...The seats slid back effortlessly and out of the van...so now carpet up and a nice clear space to weld in...All good
