Hi everyone, new here the piper. I have a problem with my 2008 Fiat Fiorino 1.3 multijet and it is undriveable as is so I am going to be as brief as possible.
To cut a long story short I have repaired the engine due to timing slipping and have changed the clutch.
The problem I have is that the van starts as it should but seems to be down on power and stops when hot as if it has run out of fuel but I am able to start it straight away but runs only for around 20 seconds and dies again. I have an Autel system and looks like the pump pressure is ok the demand and actual parameters are ok. The injector compensation is equal and the leak down test revealed they are around the same level. I am not sure now what to do next as I did disconnect the exhaust after the cat to see if it made a difference but did not. Is there anyone out there had a same problem and how did they correctly diagnose it? Appreciate any help at all.
regards
The Piper

First thought was the fuel cap breather was stuck but it seems unlikely as your fuel
pressure is ok, may be worth trying it with the tank cap loose though.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I will try opening the fuel cap as suggested it just stops when hot with no codes as if someone switched off the fuel I will post my findings later today thanks.

lso looking for some parts for the same van Fiorino 1.3 Qubo one is the plastic water hose connection that sits on the Oil filter housing like in the picture that goes to the top hose on radiator the other is the vacuum pump as the plastic connector has broken off, can you buy just this plastic piece?
cheers

Apart from potential rebuild issues.. mistiming etc.

Have you ruled out the crank and cam sensors...
Have a habit of leaving no codes and being temperature reliant

If the rotation signal is lost it stops injecting fuel ;)

Panda section has a LOT of mj info..
From fuel Algae to Electrial issues

Hi, ok tried the fuel cap no change. Changed crank sensor no change. Changed and programmed number one injector as it was leaking back too much fuel compared to the other and still no change. Its got to be a sensor failing when hot as I am monitoring using Autel most of the engine parameters, fuel injector corrections for example fuel pressure and temperature etc etc and they all seem to stay constant when its stops. I guess nobody but me has had this problem before so its hard to pinpoint the exact cause so open to any ideas/suggestions at this poin(n)t.........

What happens is, its starts to idle badly when hot and then comes to a stop. I can restart immediately and it does the same again and stops. If I knew better I would say lack of fuel but I dont know. Fuel pressure demand and actual is 30mbars difference.

Ok tries a few things yesterday.
I noticed the EGR is going out of calibration so took it off and cleaned the crap out of it and now its polished like new also, powered it up and I can get it open and close smoothly with no problems. Put it back in same problem. I noticed the EGR only goes crazy when the problem starts also, injector #3 correction value goes to a solid 5 so I changed this to a good injector and it was the same. I also took out the fuel flow electrovalve cleaned and replaced has the same problem
I have a couple of questions:
1. Is there a forwarding fuel pump in the tank ?
2. I want to check the high pressure fuel rail and compare it with the pressure sensor is there a way of doing this?

Hope someone out there has some ideas.

Yes solenoid. I am pretty sure not 100% that the leak down test on the injectors is too much on all 4 so I have taken them off to be tested at a reputable diesel specialist shop here in Spain. Once I mentioned it stalls when hot their immediate response was leak down passing too much fuel causing a loss in pressure. I am skeptical as I would see the drop in pressure on the scanner yes? Before it dies it goes into a hunting mode and just stops would this be an indication of loss of fuel ? Anyway, going to wait to see the results so will post agian in a few days thanks for the reply.

Looks like two injectors had bad leak down I gave the diesel guys 6 injectors 4 are good and two no good indicating that the two originals were bad so fitted 4 good ones and bingo no stop when at normal temperature. Now need to road test and see if it stops.
Will post later.

Is nobody here had the same problem ? I just want to share my experience etc. Not sure how many members here.
