Hi All
As now i have this technically new engine and with just about every running gear part replaced along with the brakes the weakest link is the gearbox with over 100k on it a reconditioned gearbox is on the cards
Is it worth looing for a six speed box?...Will one fit?
would love for some input on this

6 speed dualogic's are GM M20/M32 transmissions. Many Opel's have them as far as i know. The only problem is the shifter and clutch linkages...

I belive almost every Fiat and GM 6 speed 1.3 diesels at that era are using the M20 transmissions while the more powerfull ones like 1.6 multijets are fitted with M32 as it handles more torque.

Qubo's 6 speed dualogic is based on the automatized version of the M20 so at least one variant of M20 definitely fits to the engine and body.

Hi
So basically I'm looing for an m20 box to fit straight onto the 13 multijet diesel?
Yes, it should fit at least but don't just take my word and buy a transmission before getting a second opinion as I've never seen this particular swap before.
Does that mean I can still use same gear lever set up with cables as the current five speed box?

Probably not because the reverse selection will be replaced by the 6'th gear selection on the lever...

Aand on the second thought, since you've spent so much getting a new engine and etc. I'd say leave it alone at least until the clutch goes out or something. It might last another 100k.

Thanks for the input new clutch fitted early last year

Ive got 2x 875cc twinairs

Panda 5 speed

Punto 6 speed

Both are 3k rpm at 70mph

(Mj is @ 2700 at 70 )

the short shifting ability of the 6 speed is much more relaxing

Would be nice if revs dropped a bit more in 6th.. but thats the trade

Where I park I need to do 3 point turns in the road.. its a chore with a 6 speed

Just a note, the CV joints are different NS OS on the six speed, and the odd one OS I think, is a swine to get. Fiat altered them to combat a degree of torque steer........Cheers Qube O.
