Hey all,

First post here, got my Fiorino a few weeks ago and very happy with it.

However I've noticed that when the van is warm , gears become a bit difficult to engage and selecting reverse results in a nasty crunch when it goes in.

It's absolutely fine when it's cold. I'm thinking transmission fluid (either low or needs changing). Any other ideas? Anyone else had the same thing?

Thanks in advance (y)

That's topical because mine has been crunching into reverse for a while.
History :
1.3 MJ 2012, 95hp.
No issues with gears at all, at around 80,000 miles got an irrational urge to change gearbox oil, used a copy gear oil from Halfords.
Now around 97000 miles started to crunch into reverse only when hot.
So only a week ago changed the gearbox oil again using the proper specific Tutela oil from the handbook.
First journey there was a crunch reverse, the next 2 have been ok.... Will see. Also might be a little better into 1st, but actually the forward gears have always been pretty smooth.
Make of that what you will.

Used this stuff, about 1.8L. Ever so easy, need 10mm and 12mm hex drives. DSC_0017.JPG

Hi
Its defo the clutch
I could barely get reverse after a long hot trip
The pressure plate fingers get weak and dont release the clutch fully resulting in crunching gears and difficulty getting reverse
The clutch plate will be fine and the clutch does not slip its just the pressure plate thats the issue
Perfect now after a new clutch
At the same time get the slave cylinder replaced and the gearbox oil all will be fine from now on
Local garage did mine and took half a day to do total was £380 all in

That sounds like it... Best get it done then. Thankyou.
