My 2013 1.3 75/55 Fiorino CX [Bella Donna]timing chain popped on the motorway (as recently predicted here....)
@147k

Must say the "timing" could have been better :rolleyes:

Has anyone got any advice on good engine swappers/overhaulers local to Herts area? There seems to be an element of the "Watchdog Regulars" involved in this game...I could do with getting a younger engine, or a reasonably priced timing patch up. Seems to be a real lack of specialists online too for a common engine...

Any help? Stay well people (y)

Hello, see I was right she was gonna go :D

Its more of a who than a what really, I'm set on the fact I've got two options, repair if cheap or recon/reconned engine in out... Seems that mechanics are working through, they never go near each other anyway lol...

My problem is is finding an engine specialist that does it right and does it fairly...too many moody reviews online these days(n)

I've had my local lot moan about the "labour intensive" aspect of it, whilst advising me not to trust the cheap engine reconditioners, I've had (when intact) 'specialists' in engines tell me they don't do chains cos they last the life of the vehicle, the whole thing's giving me an aching swede! :bang:

All I want is Mr Fix, yes we have engines yes we'll pop it in for you, here are your choices...You'd think that would be easy...But I've got all these multi name companies with either hardly any or ten million 5 star reviews, neither of which fill me with confidence...
