Hi all. New to forum. Have owned a Ducato for years, now need a smaller van as well. Thinking of the Fiorino. However, would be doing a bit of motorway driving so would prefer the 95hp model. Does anyone know the difference between the 75 and 95hp options? Does the 95 have an 'upgraded' ECU? Or is it a different turbo?
So could I buy the 95hp and then get it remapped to have additional hp? Or has this already been done to the 75 to make it 95hp?

With a plug and play tuning chip (mine was off a fiat 500) my 75 is now 105....so it seems that the ecu determines the output
I have known people with even more power extracted from these great diesel engines
With a proper remap I guess there will be more power

When I was doing the research to buy my original Fiat (Fiorino) I looked at the Fiat site and there were two distinctly different photos of the two engines. I wondered why they had to have a different motor as you'd think doing a remap of the ECU would sort it.

Since I bought my 'facelift' Qubo (66 plate - reg 1/2/17) the power difference is remarkably better in any of my previous 1.3 MJdiesels. It has some real take off and plenty of power under my right foot now, just like I thought it ought to be. They're rated at 80PS on the new models.
Economy claims (by Fiat) are better than for the 75PS but actually it's not so good, only by 3-4 mpg. Still excellent though.

I do have a booster box for sale for the 75PS engine which I bought with a view to fitting it on change of car but the 80PS engine is so different from the previous 75PS I don't need it!

Well proven motors..

Early ones employed different turbos.. in the Punto..

A chip sounds like a good plan..

Any opinions whether it's better to have a remap done, or to buy a plug and play chip and install myself?
