Bit of a long shot but i have a knocking on my Fiorino and I wondered if anyone has had a similar problem.It sounds like its coming from behind the dash behind the clocks but maybe the noise is travelling up from5the outside? Took it to the garage and thought we had found it because one of the brake caliper bolts was loose,but after tightening it up the knock was still there. He checked everything while it was on the ramp but everthing was good.

Top mount bearings, only a short way forward from the dash..............common problem ??

Just had the nearside and off side top strut bearings replaced today, brought the Qubo 19th of last month noticed the knocking when maneuvering into parking spaces, other than that there was no sound from the bearing.
Thanks to the posts on here
pointed me to the sauce of the problem.
Now just a case of paying the £190 bill for both sides.

My 2013 Qubo is due its first MOT in Dec and in the last month or so there has been some quite bad sounding clunks. The first time I noticed I obviously stopped for a closer look...nothing found. They were that bad the wife thought I should take her car to work!! Having had 2 Qubo's before and both suffering from the same fault (am I mad??) I suspected the top struts again. Only thing is i can't remembered the knocking coming and going so much! When it's in for its MOT I'll get them checked out but I can imagine the LFD saying nothing wrong was found...their usual response.

Most likely top strut bearing as you say, I would be interested in your milage reading. Mine was just done at 48000 4 years old.

Just hit 23500 last week.
Do you know if your replacement strut tops were just the same as the originals?? It was mentioned on another thread that maybe the replacements were an updated version..

They can creak & groan for ages and ages, but getting slowly worse all the time......problem is if they seize/collapse, they can take/cause the road spring to fail as well......even more cost. Hahaha, joy of motoring........

I'm convinced it's long periods of inactivity that don't help,
EG , cars bought from sales forecourts where they've been in the corner undriven for months.

I want to share that my knocking sound is very very random! it doesnt happen when I do anything specific, the occurance is about once a day or at the most thrice?
What is that anyone any idea?
It sounds like it is from beneath the dashboard and somewhere below the radio, but i am really not sure if i am getting that right

Top Mount Bearings..............stacks on here about it.
Strut top bearing, do you hear it when turning lock to lock maybe when manoeuvring into parking spaces at slow speed. Drive ways is another place you may hear it too, as the weight shifts with wheels turned putting load on the strut.
