I had occaisional problems over a few days getting engine to start on 1.9 JTD 150bhp Bravo 2008 model. The orange engine warning light flicked on while driving despite managing to bump-start it earlier to get home from work then engine limped & spluttered. RAC called out diagnosed it was fuel pump. Took to local garage, fuel pump replaced, but still won't start, any ideas?

FYI I had ECU replaced while still under manufacturer's warranty 2 years ago as well as EGR valve and new battery.

Just a guess but isn't the fuel pump coded to the immobiliser/ecu? This is a security feature which is part of the immobilsation unit.
