can anyone help? the head gasket on my 1.2 16v w reg brava needs changing,do you have to split the cam carrier from the head to do this job?also does anyone know if you can hire the correct locking tools for cam shaft and piston height?

My cam belt just went and I've had new head gasket fitted, i think you are correct in thinking it needs splitting, and the place what done mine let me borrow the tool, dunno if it was because we knew him or not but try ringing round some garages see if they will let u rent one!

I have a camshaft locking tool for the 1.2 camshaft. or you can use a 10mm drill
