don't worry.... it's not me with the french car

Just bought the missus a 2002 Citroen xsara picasso, all in good nick, high millage (150k) 1.8 16v, but fsh and drives superbly (if a little slow)

Questions are;
if anyone knows, the missus would like rear electric windows, is this going to be like the Brav's and the wiring will be in place and its just a case of swapping manual winders for the motors and getting the switches or is it going to be a whole re-wire?

and..

It didn't come with the remote central locking key, only the normal key.
Is it possible to 'cheaply' get a new key and programme it. We don't have the code card for it unfotunatley.

any help is muchly appreciated

My old man has one of the last 2004 Xsara 5-door hatches, (a 2.0 litre HDi) and that thing is a right old mish-mash of different-spec. bits - many of which it's not supposed to have. Guess the Frogs were using-up surplus Xsara parts as they felt like at the time before the change-over to the C4.

He has'nt got rear electric windows either, but I had to take-off the door card from the fronts on his and it was'nt a pain - it's the only way to check for sure.

He has the remote 'folding/flip key' central locking, it's a minor pain though because it's too easy to trigger the buttons accidently. Don't remember there being any FIAT-type code card for it though.

Busy this weekend but might have a look next weekend about the windows.

dude we have a 56 plate one as our main car (well car park banger lol) its brilliant, as far as i know you can get the key sorted by calling any citroen dealer and giving them the reg. i have had a hdi and had nothing but trouble, got a petrol one now and its good as gold, but then its only done 30k, the rear windows were only avaible on the exclusive, and as far as i know the sx did not have the wiring as far as miy one doesn't.
