have had car for 18 months with no problems , but yesterday tried to start it and got nothing .
battery is fine , all dash lights come on as normal but when i turn the key nothing happens , doesn't even try to turn over .
anyone got any ideas ?

Starter motor maybe? have you tried to push start it....

Check cables to starter motor also... if there fine and the car bump starts and there is nothing when turning key it'll be the starter motor

sounds like a classic earthing problem, As said, check battery terminals, especially the earth. Check connections at starter motor and engine to body earth. Take em off and clean the ends , make sure that there is bare metal on the body, conect and tighten

U need to check immobilliser - crank pulley & cam shaft sensors. Any one of these can cause a non-start. good luck !!
