i have taken out the heater matrix also drained coolant and added more i can not tell if the matrix is not working could it be my thermostat if so what do i look for ?

Does the temp needle stay half way during driving ?
Has the heater matrix leaked that you have taken it out ?
Did you bleed the system right ? (guide repair section)

What engine ?

i followed instructions to bleed system and it flowed through ok, there isnt any leaking to the matrix either. The needle is starting to raise on the temp indicator on my dash but it does normally stay at about half way. it's a 1.2 engine. thanks

I would try bleeding it again, Sounds like there isstill air in the system. Possible thermostat stuck open. The only 2 things that it could be apart from the rad fan on all the time but you would hear that

Warm up the car to half mark on the dial, then test if the 2 hoses behind the engine that go in the car are warm. If only the left one is hot and the right one is cold, you have an air lock in the heater. If both are hot, the heater should function proper but your flap isnt opening like it should or you have a blocked heater what the air flow is concerned - happens with cars that dont have polen filters.

thanks for the info just checked and right hand pipe is cold so if it down to an air lock how do i remove it out of the system ?

warm the engine and open the heater flaps, Unscrew the bleed screws starting with the radiator, then the screws on the heater pipes, One of them is on a long stalk.do that one last reve engine until hot water comes out, Be careful, its nearly boiling. Close the screw while water is still coming out

Hi again, tried opening the bleed screws but the only one to have fluid running through is the bottom one near the tall stalk the other two have nothing coming through HELP!!

Thanks for your help
