hi i just bought a w plate bravo 80 sx since gettin it i've had nothing but problems. when you first start the engine the car revs itself to 3000rpm and stays there for a few mins before slowly coming down this gradually gets better as the engine warms up. even when driving and the clutch is down and the car in neutrul it still goes to 2000rpm. ive taken it to differnet garages were i had the throttle body cleaned, the idle purge valve changed and still nothing, ive reset the ecu, and it still persists, i took it to another garage and without even looking at it said its the ecu as its a common problem with fiats is this right?? as i dont wanna spend nearly £400 sorting this if its not gonna help. the first garage i took it to put it on a dianogstic and this never came up. please help

oooops i forgot

also forgot to mention i'm only gettin bout 30 miles on a tenners worth of fuel. barring that the car runs fine no over heating no lights on

Did you do a diagnostic check or just changed parts ?
The ECU-s are not so common to go, when no one has fiddled on them.

i've not got it completely sortd but i replaced the idle valve which seems to have helped so its not as bad, but i been told its quite common thing on fiats and should get the ecu replaced which should cure it, thing is costs 300 and upwards to do
