gotta be the golf, skoda or honda!!
nothing else compares to build quality !!

Ade

I will say Skoda, as you can get it cheap and save £'s, build quality will be great and won't be expensive to repair if anything does happen.

May not be the nicest car but once you get used to looking outside the widow at it, it will grow on you :)

my mates old one was comfy and could have some fun in it.

Darren

Has to be the Alfa.

It's the only car that doesn't send you to sleep when you look at it.

Could even get a diesel for that price...

I know it's miles from you but just a guide to what you could get ;)

EDIT: had ur postcode in it :) Tommy k

Was looking at VW and Skoda before I found my boo, so would suggest those. Do like the look of the Alfa though.

The Alfa wins hands down for me purely on its looks. However, I am well aware that there are plenty lemons out there. Choose carefully.

If I was out for reliability, the Golf, Skoda or Civic.

But me ....... I'm an addict on looks and would be very hard for me to turn away from the Alfa

ive had a golf , too heavy and a civic , to be honest i think the alfa wins , for me not only cos its italian but looks well nice, what about a stilo abarth , you can pick one up for about 2k

Thanks guy, the alfa is the right choice BUT now consider this...... Its for my sister!!

I think its gonna have to be fabia. Less to brake and cheaper to repair!

Oh and we went out in a MiTo 2day!! Fun little car but very very claustrobhobic due to dash wrap around and small rear windows.

me personally would have said the fiat stilo stick to itallian cars. i sure wish i did lol

Heart would say Alfa whereas the brain would say Civic.

alfa then golf

nothing else cvoems close

if its the ones in those pics

id go for a Mazda 3 above the golf, but the alfa comes first

surprised you didnt have a seat ibiza or leon in there..

Out of those, the Honda is the safest/overall best recommendation if for someone else who I'm assuming is mechanicaly clueless/uninterested.

Fabia would be second choice, but I would'nt touch it's sister the Polo - dull as ditchwater and usualy over-priced for what it is.

My added suggestion to the list would be for a facelift Hyundai Getz - nothing exciting, but it's a well thought-out motor and as well built as VW pretend the Polo is (and probably more reliable...)

part of me want's to say the stilo, however the jazz is prob a safe bet....could her budget get a vrs skoda diesel?

LOL @ Wimmy....

My sister has £800 and a broken punto JTD (electrical fault, wont read the key!)

So I'm putting the rest towards a car in the hope I might sell the punto for summit!

The budget is £2000

so that'll get a nice Fabia, nice Polo or high millage other stuff!

question is.. will the high millage stuff still outlast the polo or fabia!

If the budget would streatch to £5k for a Fabia VRS i'd buy her a brand new panda with a warrenty :)
