I've heard this passenger airbag thing mentioned before -

Is it a popular upgrade then? How come they all seem to not haver them as standard?!

I am very interested though - could you elaborate on what's involved in fitting it and do you have any photographs of what it looks like in place, or of the fitting process?

The passenger airbag cover is a great subtle mod i think, but its such a dog to remove the old holder to replace it with the airbag cover. I ended up loosening all the dashboard, yes all the dashboard just to move the dash out so i could gain access to the hidden screws which where probably fitted before the dash entered the car at the Fiat factory.

Also note MK1 and MK2 Bravos have a different colour interior.

Tommy is right, its is a pain to fit but imo looks a lot better than the 'dip'

i think it took me about an hour to do and as Tommy says one or two bolts are impossible to get to. i ended up using a bit of brut force and broke one of the lugs, however this is not needed, from memory they have approx 10 bolts/screws holding them in very over the top!! any way i guess you want to see a picture?

you have to take most the dash apart tho!!


I've got the airbag to if the wire is there, plus i've got all the bolts and the fiting plates, it's just to bolts or so to fit.

Passenger side airbag wont work. You need more than just the airbag itself.

You need the presence sensor which is fitted to the passengers seat, the ECU should be fine but im sure it needs to be setup to accept the 2nd airbag.

Is it MK1 or MK 2. Has it ever been sprayed or is it original condition?

Does it have any writing, e.g 'AIRBAG' written on it? or is it plain.

Will pay 200 if its right.

It looks like a genuine cover so it'll say 'Airbag' on the bottom left corner. Heres one i bought years ago from Tommy, it was a Mk1 airbag. I paid £40-£50 at the time. Probably paid over the odds but wanted one.

Anyway i later got another a MK2 airbag cover and a MK1 airbag cover. I later sold them on for £15 each, which was a struggle as nobody wanted them at £15 really, had to relist several times.

The one i got off Tommy was the wrong colour so i sprayed it to suit my MK2 interior. Heres a picture from my ebay listing of the Tommy sold me many years ago, this is after i sprayed it...

(This airbag also had AIRBAG written on it but can't be seen due to angle and quality of pic)



Heres the MK1 Cover i sold on ebay a few months ago. (You can just make out the AIRBAG on the bottom left corner)





For anyone interested in Tommys cover and they want it for a MK2 interior, then you can do what i did and spray it. The match was 98% perfect. The cover in my first pic is sprayed.

Yeah, Joske did pay £40 back in 2006 for a MK1 cover but over 2years later they have dropped in price, but so have bravo!!!
