My brav' don't have the fogs as standard.
It does have the wiring.
If I get some original fogs, can i cut holes in my bumper and expect them to fit. Ie, are the mountings still moulded within the bumper .

Well, come on, all you boo'ers can't you anwswer me this ?

You do need to bear in mind that a lot of us have full time jobs so aren't necessarily going to reply within your 8 hour expectation.

I do believe people have cut holes before but I don't think there's any mounting point so its possible but more work involved.

Your best bet is to pick up a HLX or Abarth bumper cheap from a scrappy or ebay. The finish of the hole is likely to be far superior than any cutting of an existing bumper plus you'll get the right mounting points.

The HLX bumper is not an SX bumper with holes cut out. Even though if you flip an SX bumper over you'll see a outline or impression for where the foglight cowels go.

The HLX bumper has a recessed ridge around the edge of the hole, so when the foglight holder goes in, it'll sit flush with the bumper.

There are also no holes under an SX bumper to screw the cowel into place, nor is there a bracket above the foglight within the bumper to screw the cowel inplace via the hidden screw in the cowel.

However it is possible to cut up an SX bumper and fit the cowels to it. Except they probably wont be 100% straight, they will protrude afew mm from the bumper and you will not be able to adjust them whilst fitted from under the car unless you cut holes under the bumper. However it has been done and is very possible. You will also need the wiring and a switch.

Thanks Joske, thats just what I wanted to hear. I have the cowles and wiring already, just switch panel next. I'm not too fussed with the cowles pertruding a little, I mean, I dont see that many Bravs down my way, so I shouldn't think anyone will notice.

bit late reading this but id say also be easier just bying an hlx bumper

Mike

yea, i've looked into that, but the hlx's etc are like rocking horse sh*t around here, and when i found one in same color it was too shabby for my liking.
