OK guys need a little help and ideas here.
We have had the league table of event atendees this year in hope of making the choice of venue for the xmas meala little easier.
Now is the hard part. I said from day one it wouldnot simply be a case of most travelled/shows wins it. My reason behind this were that most shows could be easy forsomeone who lives a fewmiles away from the majority of shows, most travelled would mean 1 member from Scotland making two shows all year (poss 1) and winning.
I am looking for suggestions on how to do this fairly. The current league table can be found here http://www.fiatboo.co.uk/eventsleaugue.htm
As you can see I am top with most travelled and Lincs have a larger total overall. However, I only made 4 of the 7 (2 not in a brav). Lincs were central for the events and doubled up with Kate in Tommys car.
I am looking for fairness. 1 point per mile, bonus points per show, bonus points for coming in a Brav, bonus points for travelling silly distance etc etc.
Also maybe work out a central location between top 3 or 4 areas/drivers.
Suggestions please then put to a vote seems fairest (Lincs not allowed to vote :) only messing)
Vote will be members only

Tommy and kate made the most shows so it's all round to their house.

Jay, thats not a bad idea... altho without having to worry about driving I fear I my drink :(

ps; christ, 2 shows and 400 miles... if id have gone to as many as Kate and Tommy it would have been at mine!

Well I looked at it and thought...

Why not triangulate the top 3 counties and use that as the location.

In short it's Sheffield to Derby kinda area...

So where we normally have it anyways :)

So if anyone knows a nice Toby Carvery etc around that location.... voice up now!!

Or..... lets see when people can come & who wants to come & pic a location thats equel to all them.

It HAS to be deffinate attendence cos Knowing Buzz he'll say summit I wont understand which transulates to "i'll come" just so he can giggle at everyone who's travelled all day!

....... and wont turn up!!

Well I'll be there depending on date and what vehicle is working
I don't mind where it is, I just wonder about the food ;)

if its within 50 miles of my pub, i'll come.
But Scotland dont look like its on the cards for the main XMAS day meet :(

we need some cad/cam tool here
mark each persons home postcode with a line and join them all up
make each persons mileage traveled into a sping pressure on their line and see where the join ends up :)

ok... how about this for a mad idea!!!

Why don't we find a place we can have a meal AND a night out.... stay over the night!!

Travel lodge are doing some £9 rooms if i rememeber right.

As we have only had 1 camping event this year... I've only had 1 opatunaty to make a tit of myself :)

plus if i stay over the night I can drink!!!! and make it worth the long drive.

What you all think????

That looks good tommy, like the sound of it but im not a nightclub person, never have been!

but you (and by you i mean suggestions) will never make any one happy...

well, he might make one happy, but not every one. Thats just life.

Sounds like a good idea Tommy, but with things the way they are, i reckon that stag-night type thing is probably out of most folks budget. Its certainly out of mine =(

3rd time lucky! I'm not use to this berry yet

Right

It was only an examle of wot we could do but only cheaper

I don't like nightclubs. Either so I'd go for the comedy night option

It was just a thought as we all drive about 2hrs for a meal, chat for another hour then go home and don't see eachother again untill Brooklands!

Plus I'd suggest having our x-mass meal in November like usuel or very eary december.

Kate being the sensible one has suggested my idea is pants as people might not have the money BUT a nice meal, activity & a night out together would be rather nice :)

like the idea of of a night out after the meal Tommy, would be a good way to end the year. Could also consider bowling.

Only thing really would be to try and keep costs lowish, so a hotel close by to whatever we are ding to avoid taxi's would be an idea

See what the masses say and take it from there

Night out, meal and a cheap hotel sounds good, £19 sounds great. We can then all get merry together!!!!
