The standard clutch can do 150bhp. Its simply a matter of your ability/inability to drive well.
If they say its uprated, and it actually is, then it'll do it no problem.

Well done mate!! and it wasn't going when you got it... it'd done 90k on the standard clutch and was past it's best ;)

Scotty has an uprated clutch so it might be worth asking how he finds it.

If you get a fiat clutch kit from shop4parts etc. it should be fine.

DON'T GO TO MR CLUTCH!!!!

yeh but that clutch on ebay is supposed to be the performance clutch and so should hold the 150map better with no slippage???

as thats what il be getting done next, so i dont just want a standard clutch,

i know buzz said that the standard clutch can handle it but for the longivity and for angel to do the remap i apparently need the uprated clutch otherwise if i floor it itll just keep slipping wont it?

I have a map from angel, not sure if its the 150, but i had anew valeo clutch fitted and that slips from time to time. I would just get in touch with clutch manufacturers and get some sort of assurance that if u buy it and it does slip, they will sort it out!

Techni clutch do a kit that can take more stick than the others mentioned, but it still isent up to the job totally.

Just dont hold the hammer down when the judder kicks in,you will learn how to drive it and will be ok.

If you want a judder free job, then your looking at the best part of £500.

As for the one your looking at,nobody knows what it's like, cause they probably haven't tried it.

These sorts of things are a trial and error try it for yourself and see thats the best way to go everybody has an opinion you cant believe them all so try it and see for your self whats what??

Best of luck with it.

Cheers Scotty

well i ordered the uprated fiat bravo clutch kit, its designed for racing cars apparently and will hold 250BHP without slipping? so ive taken his word on it and we'll see what happens!! shall certaintly be interesting!!

They can apparently? Tommy, there was a thread a good while back, ware a anon came on and said you can have them skimmend, and i said they cant be skimmend.

Well apparently they can!! and not only that, the best thing to do with them is have it welded solid and then skimmend or vice versa making them better/more reliable than they were before, I know!! dosent make sense!! to me iether.

I will update the details as i get them,as my old one is going to have it done,so will find out all the details as to whether it's FACT or fiction??

And they only charge around £45

I was £280 for my one when i put the clutch in,big difference.

IF it works???

sorry scotty lost me there mate, skimmed? what the flywheel or clutch or are you on about getting the head skimmed? lol

DERV POWER OOOO YEAH!!! BRAVO UPRATED CLUTCH ON THE WAY!!
Modified-Enthusiasts.co.uk

With some aftermarket clutches the flywheel has to be shimmed to allow the clutch cover plate to mount properly. If the flywheel isn't skimmed ie metal taken away then the clutch could fail prematurely. The skimming I'm talking about is more than just refacing the driven surface of the flywheel as should be done if it is slightly worn before fitting a new clutch. The performance clutch in question seems to be a paddle clutch. It will be difficult to drive this on the road in normal every day driving conditions where cltuches need to be slipped. The Bravo flywheel has a variable dynamic damper at the centre to aid take up, reduce judder and make for smoother changes. This can weep oil onto the clutch driven plate cuasing slippage or faill totally meaning you have no drive.

Best go for an OE Valeo clutch and drive sensibly. These are uprated. It is not the power but the torquw that destroys a clutch.

Good Luck.

This is a Dual Mass flywheel the smooth shiney part is the part that conects with the driven plate thats the part that gets skimmed,so the whole surface or as near as of the driven plate and fly wheel are touching conecting firmly.

That center part has a slight play in it,to give smoother gear change's or so it's meant to amongst other things.

If your one has a slack play without any spring it's on it's last legs and will fail totaly fiarly soon with 150 remap. i am haveing this one sent to be welded solid and skimmed as said above, aparently it make it better more able to take abuse than a standerd moving one.

They fail after the 100k mark some will get 130k before failing though.

Not a lot of people know about them cause most fiats at that millage with a bill of £500 all in for repair are just SCRAPPED.

Cheers Scotty

variable dynamic centre, dual mass flywheel they are pretty much the same thing. basically they can fail meaning no drive. the VW experienced quite a few failures with it's 1.8T engines a few years back on very low mileage engines. suffice to say owners were not happy.
Apart from making take up of the drive more smooth and reducing the need for a sprung driven plate VDC and DMF is a crafty way the maunfacturer can set an upper limit for the output of a std engine. Fitting a solid flywheel will mean you need a decent sprung driven plate as the std Bravo is not sprung if I remember; anyway more uprated springs for the driven plate are needed and also for the cover plate clamping pressure to stop slip with the extra torque generated from a remap but with out making it so strong that you need both feet to depress the clutch pedal.
150 bhp remap with a new OE Valeo unit which is uprated 15-20% than the original which was fitted in the factory is fine providing you don't go mad and cook your clutch with frquent full throttle burn ups. Some cars require LUK clutches. The chassis number of your Bravo will determine which type. A Fiat dealer can tell you this.
