Was time for renewal and decided on giving Chris Knott a try after being with Flux for a couple of years.

Gave them the details and they asked what my renewal quote was (£414) and then said that all their figures were coming up around £600.

Please hold for a few mins.

Came back and hey presto - just over £350 fully comp with all mods declared.

Result.

Being an old fart really pays off

Chris Knott were the only people who would give me a quote under 2k when i first got my brava turbo back.


everyone else was quoting 3k or wouldnt do it!

and never had a problem but then i never had a claim! lol

yeah i got discount for being member of Fiat uk owners club which i was at the time. but they never asked me for any proof!

They wont but they do random checks wih the clubs and could invalidate any insurance cover if found to be not members

got a rather tasty quote of £732 tpft with flux, decided to ring chris knott up and they quoted me £670 tpft (although a higher excess) im prepared to live with the gamble.

very friendly knowledgable staff. highly recomended.

i will be trying both come renewal time, see what i can get on the alfa and also see what can be done re other options

damn no NCB though, that hurts the wallet

was gonna try them myself until i told them what job i did, they won`t insure courier drivers as they think i`ll use my car for work, thing is we use 3 ton vans for work and i tried to tell them that we don`t use our own cars for work but they wouldn`t budge, so i`m not even goin to consider them next time

Well this year for me it was the Flux who did the best deal for me... BUT I will say chris knott didn't give up easly


They did beat Flux's 1st quote but I went back to the flux and they pulled a cracker out the bag!!


Both companies are brill if I'm honnest... just try both and see what you can swing



oh and the BOO membership saved me about £500!!! Not a bad return for just £5!!!

Needs some cosmetic work;
-Need to respray front wing (Colour doesnt match);
-Could also do with a clean;
-Need new bump strips;
-Want new wheels.

Before i call, does anyone know if ck do trade insurance? I'm struggling to find a compoany that will insure anyone under 21 on their policy but the garage i used to work at had me on their policy from 17 which allowed me to driva any car for business or pleasure

Sorry about that. The scheme starts at age 19 for tpft cover, and 21 for Comprehensive cover. All drivers must have a full licence for at least 1 year.
