Guest | Re: OT - reduced price HID I have now installed these on my dipped beam. Absolutely no modifications needed with the poly headlights. Everything tested and fitted within an hour. Initially I thought they might just look smart from the outside but the improved visibility is astonishing. If you thought standard Bravo/a headlights to polys was a step up this will really surprise you. If you can afford this mod - grab it with both hands. ![]()

Guest | Re: OT - reduced price HID There you go Al. http://www.hids4u.co.uk/store/produc...&cat=13&page=1 6000k is slightly blue. As a comparison. The next cheapest digital kit I found was in Allwoods Automotive and they wanted £130 for 8000k output which is too blue for my liking.

Guest | Re: OT - reduced price HID Well can't comment on legal side but my Brava went thru its MOT fine with my 6000K HIDs. No washer jets or self levelling lights (which I think is the requirement) installed. ![]() Brava: Mar '99 1.9TD / 48,500 miles Coupe: Feb '97 20V N/A / 129,000 miles

Guest | Re: OT - reduced price HID Rascal - that sounds more like advice than law. The installation manual describes a similar thing: "make sure the headlights are kept clean by stopping regularly or using headlamp washers". I imagine its to do with the glare from a dirty lens - much the same as having a dirty windscreen, inside and out.

Guest | Re: OT - reduced price HID Allan, most if not all of todays aftermarket kits don't require you cutting a single wire, they have spade connectors that connect to the +ve and -ve within the headlight. Regarding the legality of HIDs they are 100% illegal if they are fitted to a headlight that was designed to take halogen bulbs. Polys with HIDs are illegal. Autolevelling and headlight washers are only for cars fitted with HIDs as standard, not aftermarket. I have had HIDs for 3 or more years now and never had any problems with the Police or the MOT people. ![]() ![]() For Sale: Fiat Bravo JTD HLX LINK
