RadWeld/Bars leaks opinions wanted

as title, i'm looking for opinions on the above products or similar products. I've got a tiny leak at the bottom of the rad on my 2002 skoda. I'm losing maybe 400ml of fluid every month(which is 4k miles) I say that just to give you perspective on how tiny a leak it is. I've not had the rad off or anything daft, but i suspect its one of the fins has been bumped an caused a tiny crack. maybe. lol.

So i was thinking about putting a bottle of leak sealer in, but as i've never ever had a leaky radiator that wasn't caused by an insecure hose, i have never used them, and dont know if they work.

Opinions/experiences please?

They work OK in that they will stop a small leak, but I would'nt use them in any car I cared about, because that stuff will also narrow passageways in other parts of the coolant system, which is not so clever.

I used this on an old escort i had. was ok until i sold it 4 years later. Radweld.

Drain your system, dry round the leak, mix up some Araldite glue and paste it round the leak area. Leave it overnight and then re-fill/bleed system. Good as new. Used it often in the Army to seal leaks in header tanks etc.

i've got chemical metal, and i could patch it that way, by plastering all over that corner, but its so minute that i can actually see it, hence the presumption its inbetween fins where they meet the edge of the radiator (which would be hard to get glue into)

Ach, i'll give it a crack.. nobody's given me any reason not to try, lol.

No need to patch it! chances are you would not find it and as you say, the cooling fins would be in the way. Radweld will do the job fine

No worries mate. Just pour the radweld in and run the engine. as soon as the pressure is on, the hole will seal if it is as small as you say.
