Hi Guys,

I have been reading this forum and many others about LPG conversions, i have a Bravo 1.6, only done 40k on clock and i need a car to travel 400 Work miles a week plus my own normal use.

I have 2 options, to buy a diesel or to add LPG to my Bravo.

I have read on another frum that 2 people have done it on here.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend first where to go?? What kit to get and also how much a i expected to pay??

Any help you can give me would be excelent, i am in North West so close as poss please guys

Cheers dudes

Mike

You need to speak to Rab. I know he has an LPG BravA and the last time I spoke tyo him he said he has never looked back!! He is also in the North West so I would assume that he got it done locally.

Hope this helps :)

Hi Rab, thank you for te info, i already have the list of places so i will go of your recommendations by calling the first places you said.

Whhat type of tank did you get and what mileage did you get out of the tank whe full??

A Few people have said to use 2 tanks of gas then a tank of petrol but other people have said no so hearing from someone who had it done would be excellent.

How much did it cost you to get the onversion done?/ A few people have also said "Do itt yourself" but i wanted it warrentied?/

Cheeers again

mike

Hi Mike,

I had a 90ltr tank in the boot.(75ltr fill alowing for gas expansion)
Have a look in the gallery there are a few pics in there of mine.
I got the biggest tank as i was travelling between Lancashire and Glasgow a lot.
I got about 300-350 miles to the tank and it only cost me £20 to fill. :)
As for swapping fuels i never did and never had a problem.
It all depends on what sort of mileage your looking to do before refills as to what tank you go for but to save space in the car you could go for a toroidial tank (dougnut, fits where your spare wheel sits) there generally about 35ltr tanks.
And mine cost me £950 but as i said before that was a good few years ago.
And don't try fitting it yourself as you need the certificate you get issued for your insurance.

I would mail you directly but my mail doesnt work??

Was it the first place you mentioned that you went to?? I dont mind trvelling to go somewhere it has been recommended. I will be going 400 commuter miles a week plus personal but really need the boot so think a donut tank, i just dont want to be filling up every other day, i suppose their is a place close to me that sells gas??

£950 is a good price,. i have rang a few people and they have all said about £1500 up to now?? Bit steep i reckon??

No the place i went to has shut down now.
Try the Total Gas place at Bury for a quote first then Premier in Rochdale both places have been recomended to me as i was going to get my Alfa converted too but something came up :(
