Can anyone tell me before I start dismantling things, what material are the numbers 9 and 14 on the pic under. My gear lever has too much play, so I have to change the lever mountings, but whats the common one to go, the top or the bottom one ? Or to change both ?

when i had the new engine and box put in a had loads of play, the gear linkage was out of line. mechanic got under the car with a pry bar and bent it back. might be unrelated though

try NYLON mate .
yup , like real tough plastic , just what should be inplace for a gear stick pivot.
they do wear eventually ,but only once all grease gone and its full of dust and crap usually found down in there. !
