Hello,

Just a purely hyopthetical question, Can a Fiat Ducato 2.8 engine fit into a fiat Brava 100SX 1.9 JTD?

Seriously doubt it, but remember the 2.8 JTD only has about 120BHP. Its designed for lots of torque.

Yes, but can't it be tweaked to give a differend BHP/Torque ratio?

you could however put in the 2.4 JTD out the diesel marea, you'd have to widen the front end and stuff but would be interesting.

interesting is a car that tracks alot wider at the fron than at the back... taken to an extreme and the effect you've got is a reliant running about backwards all the time... You'd be better with a 2.4 20v JTDmjet engine from the new alfas. A standard remap will see almost 250bhp, or with a couple of grand thrown at it (and lets be honest, if you are going to spend a few grand on the donor engine etc you might as well spend a couple more) you could bag yourself a 300bhp JTDm engined motor.

And Buzz i was meaning wider as in HGT, 2.4 JTD as they have a different set up over the other's in the range.

Yup, just wider wings and different running gear iirc.

sorry Tom, my english perhaps wasn't up to spec, but let me highlight:

'interesting is a car that tracks alot wider at the front than at the back'

anyway, i still think a 300bhp JTDm is what you want ;)

;) Cheers buddy

Its only 40mm difference between HGT and non.

Look at a morgan 3 wheeler :)

Don't let Donny Lad read this thread.

He will be wanting to chop the rear of a Suzuki Hayabusa (turbo'd and nitrous'd of course ;)) onto the front half of his Bravo next :)

bah! you petrol purists... whats wrong with oil ;)
(dont answer that)

Its great in the sump of my engine ;)

Having said that I've been driving round in a JTD doblo all day.
