Im looking at fitting a multi cigarette lighter socket in permanently for sat nav etc.

Would the best way be to cut the end off the multi adapter and splice into the existing cigarette lighter wires or should I get the power from somewhere else?

And would the cigarette lighter wires cope with 4 or 5 gizmos and gadgets at once?

i had about 5 things runnign off the feed from my cig lighter, all just hard wired in the back.

my road angel i cut off the cig lighter plug and hard wired it into the back of the headunit, so it was only on with the ignition and short wire

I have hard wired in a multi adapter, i took the feed from the cigarette lighter and stereo and fitted a on/off switch in the ashtray, so i can turn it on and off when please, ideal for when i had the head rest screens and dvd player as well as my mini fridge. very easy to do just take your time.
