Ye i thought about it but it covers the natural shine of the metal, the only things i can think of is clear nail varnish or clear wood varnish.

There must be some kind of clear metal varnish of some sort.

Chances are its already too late and they are tarnished. Mine started turning orange in under 24 hours.

wax oil??
its what i was told to put on my bare paintwork where my arches had been grinded, apparently stops the rusting

ye thats the second time thats been sugested, but how long does that last??

what you are after is

Clear etch primer then lacquer

Been out of the trade for a few years now (4 or so) but clear etch USED to be fairly expensive.

Thanks for the info Steve, Whares the best place to get it from???

Cheers Scotty.
