I have taken off the starter and I am not sure which wires go where. the wire from the alternator and the big wire from the battery go on the larger terminal (13mm nut) and the remainder wire goes on the smaller terminal (10mm nut) is this coorect as i dont want to risk connecting them incorrectly.

I think you got it right, positive (red) and the red wire from alternator go on the larger connector. The remaining wire fits onto the solenoid connector. This one is from the ignition switch

yeah what axle said, the smaller wire / connector will only fit on the 10mm bolt, whereas the larger 2 will fit aon anything but alot of play in them (this shouldnt be there so its a give away)
