hi guys
i changed my brake pads and discs about 3 months ago.and from then my brake pedal somtimes judders when i press the brakes..i posted before about this .and took most advice given.thefore i have now changed wishbones,balljoints,anti-rollbar droplinks,complete hub assembly's,and fitted new discs again.
the problem is still there not half as bad as before but it is still there.any ideas guys,.
i was considering the top suspension mounts.?
the strange thing is that it does not do it all the time.but at 70 mph you know about it..lol
it does it with my normal 14 inch rims,and my 17 inch rims,

yeah like about 3 months ago,but it does it with both sets of wheels.normal steelies and alloys.

Sounds like the discs have warped. Buy fiat parts and no crap from motorfactors unless its Ferodo.

surely not 3 sets would be warped though.

You mentioned it sometimes judders, so am i right in thinking sometimes when you press your brake pedal it doesn't judder?

If so....

Have you renewed the brake fluid and checked the brake pipes for buldges? Have you checked your callipers aren't sticking.

Are you renewing the brake pads when you renew the discs. (Very Important).

Could well be the caliper slides, a very often overlooked item.

The things on which the caliper slides. When they wear the caliper twists and binds onto the disc.

can this be caused by painting the calipers?

Yes if you get paint in them. The calipers HAVE to move smoothly and freely.

Why dont you travel at 30mph when its quiet and put your brakes on does the car pull to any side?

i have tried this,the car drives fine. and there is no play in the steering either.
i will take a look at the calipers i think,
i have some 4 pots from a jaguar xkr at work,..i might do a conversion..lmfao
press the brake and ill go through the windscreen..lol

painting the sliders? No no, get that off. smear with a dab of copper grease

well i think im gonna strip the calipers down.
and i will replace the top suspension bushes.
Then i will have changed everything possable on the front,
then if it continues ill change the rear drums.
watch this space..
and btw my calipers are not painted..lol
