Well not quite modding, this time im sort of replacing. Going where no man would dare unless your an upholsterer. :)

Few Sneak peaks.....

Can you guess what im doing? Well if you cant tell why or what i am doing then the answer is simple. Many of you guys complain about non-working heated seats, well i've got the solution in hand.

"You've got a HLX why fit heated seats when you already have heated seats as standard?"

I always had a tempermental drivers seat when it came to heating so i decided to remove and replace as it was annoying in winter. Passenger side is perfect but i'm still replacing that one aswell as my new ones have a fancy two phase heat mode.

Total cost is £43 for both back and seat heating pads for both seats. Yes thats correct, not a mis-print, £43 Brand New items. Not original Fiat parts but IMO perhaps better quality. These come with a 3 point switch, phase 1 for a warm setting, phase 2 for a twice as warm setting and off.

I've removed the original switch and heating pads but going to incorporate the LED into the new seats.

Watch this space.....

ah now i know what u meant chap, i`ll have to get in touch with you over weekend if thats ok as i have the same problem, just let me know is best to call you

BRAVO, why settle for anything less.

Jay, defiantely not Poland, available in the UK and i will let you all know when i get it all running smoothly.

Even if you had an SX interior you could fit the heated seats if you dare too.

Rob, yeah no probs.

I feel a new guide coming. :)

Nice one Joske. That will definitely be on my list once you've written an idiot proof guide for me. ;)

your replacing the passenger one, and it works. Thats modding! ;)

I can guarantee you I would not bother with the passenger one myself. 1) it works and 2) I'm a lazy sod who certainly could not be bothered to do it even if it didn't work. Drivers side is needed though.

Oh and Joske, are you not tempted to put a massager unit in there too? ;) :)

Well its a fix for HLX/HGT owners and a mod for S and SX owners. If your nice enough i'll write a lovely guide for this forum.

The seats can be wired in directly into the original switch or use the new switch with extra functions.

Oz i doubt a massager would look standard fit, after all this isn't pimp my ride. However i did find an air condition seat cover. :)

re

shoudl have got your sewing machine out when you had the covers off!

its much easier than i imagined!

not perfect but considerig i did this in a week of evenings i thought was ok!

never got round to the frotn two though!

Joske that looks like an awesome attempt at improving the quality of the heated seats. I look forward to seeing how it all ends up.

I have leather now though so I'm assuming it will be a complete pain to remove that and insert the heating elements.

I look forward to the guide anyway though!

Ok all is done, refitted seats, wiring rechecked and seats tested. MMMMmm nice toasty bum.
