Number plate lights

Is it possible not to have the rear lights over the numberplate? Wanted to change the rear bumper, if the answer is that i need them can i use the bolts that hold the plate on with the little LED's in them?

It is unlawful not to have rear number plate lights, it wont pass an MOT and you'd be liable to a fine if stopped.

As long as the number plate is lit it will be ok but I think you will need 2 lights to do it, maybe 1 in the middle will do, not sure on that one.

As above, it needs to be lit somehow. I believe if you use a pair of the led bolts this will be sufficient.

my mot company put led bolts on the dont light up **** but they passed the mot haha
