Just wondering what fuel you lot run in your cars?

Cus i normally just go for the cheap regular unleaded in my 1.8 (student....), but was thinking about squirting a tank of optimax or bp ultimate in and thrashing it (the thinking is it'll do the injectors some good to run nice fuel)

any thoughts?

tesco ron 99

I had an hlx 1.8 mk1 and put tesco ron 99 into make a full tank.

It performed alittle better but that may have been psychosematic response of putting a "performance fuel" in the car.

Apparently in a car with more bhp the difference is more noticeable, might have to try it in my BMW 130i

teasco 99 ron makes the hgt roar when you put your foot down and makes the engine a lot quieter when your taking it easy

I'm trying to use Tesco's 99 RON as much as possible at the moment...

Defo noticing a slight power increase in the old HGT... better fuel consumption too...

Much better fuel consumption!!! i love it so much i might drink some

when i can its tesco 99 all the way, but sometimes i cant be arsed to trek up to tesco :(

Shell Optimax is what I use, MPG goes down but overall it does make a difference, much better acceleration, feels smoother.

I've got a 1.6 100_SX.

my 1.8 has sipped optimax98/99ron since i got it 30k miles ago. it seems comparatively sluggish now when i've tried regular fuels.

the ecu doesn't adjust depending on the fuel in a bravo, so you only get a very small difference. i doubt you could measure it as a difference in BHP.

i also get 350 miles to a tank with optimax, and about 320 on regular fuels.

Up until recently I only used boggo petrol, but I was on the red last week and was passing a shell garage, so thought I would stick a tank of V-Power in, 90.9 a litre so not too expensive.

I can definitly notice a difference, the power kick in the 1.8 is more pronounced at 4500rpm than before, and is more willing to rev, I'm gonna try Tesco's 99 as that is meant to be the best performance fuel.

I only put Optimax/V-power in the motor, last time I put regular unleaded in the car didn't like it one bit. It's a 100sx and I've been using super for so long I can't remember any increase in performance :(

might just be me but the last few times i put morrisons petrol in, the car's felt a bit sluggish. As soon as i get half a tank of regular shell stuff in it's better again.

Don't normally go for the super stuff cos i'm tight. but i got a 5p/L off voucher from tesco today so i might give this 99 stuff a try.

Optimax/V-Power.

I rarely (if ever) use anything else and nothing but in the bikes.

i only use 97 RON, usually sainsburys super unleaded (cant argue with 86.9p/litre).

if i put 95 RON fuel in my far will stall while idling or performing tight manouvers like in a small car park or a 3pt turn

yeah, the Sainsburys super, is basically BP Ultimate. but they charge the same as B charge for regular. thats what first got me hooked. then i just started using optimax in the garage across from work, because its been 1p more at the most than sainsburys, and i believe it is 'probably' better than sainsburys super97ron. moreso now that vpower is 99ron
