thanks joe

had same with my 1.4SX, was just a loose connecting to the ECU, worth a look?

i will have a look in the morning befor i leave for southport thanks

diagnostics WILL show that the little ceramic element in your lambda sensors cracked, 4 out of 5 similiar faults are due to this, 80 quid fix 60 if you can diy

Unlikely to be lambda. Unfortunately its the usual garage 'fob you off' response.

£60 to DIY a lambda is a lot though, £30 is more realistic.

30 quid will get you a universal lambda, but suppose if your good with snips and crimps, jobs a good'un. i take it, that the intermittent faults were indentified cryton tune diagnostics or similiar, did it pick anything else up, emmissions are normally a give away and if its not your lambda you'll be spending a bit more than 30 quid

I assume you mean Crypton.

A universal lambda is just the same as a Fiat lambda but with a different connector. The element is identical as they all come from only a few factories. Fiat don't actually make them. There is no difference in quality.

Sudden loss of power won't be lambda related. The lambda probe is ignored for the first 5-10 mins of running and even then the ECU only reads it at idle and low to medium throttle.

my car did exactly the same, but used to cut out too. i got it plugged in, loads of faults, knock sensor below 8, misfiring on cylinders 2 and 4, sky high emissions, and the power of a fart in first and second gear below 2.5-3k rpms. got new plugs and leads, no different. new fuel pump, still the same. got the injectors checked out too. then the guy when checking the lamda sensor said it was shot. so replaced that. he plugged it in again a month later (after resetting the ecu) and there were no more faults and the car was sweet as a nut

did read any of the post but when my car did this i took it in for a diag and it was a broken sensor, £80 for test, 10 for fix.

i will be getting it checked out tomorrow thats for shore i realy carnt be doing with it on the way to trax.

thanks for the advice guys
