qoute "ben, the veryfact that he is a sportsman means he is most definitely not allowed to unleash his temper in such a violent manner"
Sorry rob but i dont agree why do you beleive this statement. What makes a sportsman have to live by a different set of rules to the rest of us just because they are famous.
Do not take this as me condoning zidane, but i beleive any man (or woman) whether famous or not should all be treated the same.
I am a father and i do not agree that sportspeoples lives are as much as an influence on our youth as the popular press want us to beleive. I think a lot of it is just over hype take the rooney swearing incident for example. Me and my two sons aged 12 and 9 all watched that game which you could clearly lip read that he was swearing and also it was audible but they both play football and i have never heard 1 of them swear.
Whatever matterazzi said to him must have been a great insult for him to react in the way that he did , just try to imagine if you were in his position imagine if you will it was the last day of your carear and a competitor came up and said something that was the worst insult to you, add to that all the pressure of the occasion and tell me honestly if you would keep your cool i know i could not. Again and i wish to stress this point i do not and never condone what he did and do not want to remember him for this allthough a lot of folk will . At the end of the day he was one of thwe most proffesional of sportsman and was exceptionally tallented. ok rant over got a tired hand
