Has anyone got any idea what I need to do to resolve this?
The wipers suddenly froze and then continued. Since then they don't work on intermittant, the flick wipe no longer parks, the normal and fast speed also will not park. I cannot locate any relays and the fuses are ok. It is a 2001 1256 Brava.
Any ideas?
Steve

sounds like a buggered switch inside the motor.
do the wipers stop as soon as you turn the wipers off without returning to the park position?

Re: Re: Wipers won't park or work as Intermitent

thats odd, i got a page not found message when i tried to send the first reply :(

got same problem - if its switch in motor as suggested is it easily fixed and how?

its the circuit board on the wiper mechanism. About £25 from a scrap yard or £150 max from fiat. If you are a BOO member you can get them from powerfiat with a discount.

Less than an hours job with a haynes.

i have the same problem, is it necessary to buy a whole new wiper asembly?

...now Bravo JTD :)

I have this problem intermittently, im sure its my steering column switch because if the wipers dont park, i twist the end to turn the rear wiper on, and then they park! and work fine until the car is turned off!
Does this not suggest its the switch?

the circuit board is part of the assembly, if you can take it apart and fix it then great, easier to replace the unit. I have one that i was going to test adn try and fix but never got round to it. Everything is possible but it's not always easier or cheaper!

I HAD THIS PROBLEM AND SORTED IT
i got a new motor assembly inc motor switch etc from a scrappers for 30 quid.
If anyone is breaking a bravo or brava ask for it, they are both the same for each model.
Is basically 3 nuts to undo under the black plastic trim under the windscreen. The hardest part was removing the wipers themselves.
i did it without a manual or guide, its pretty easy.

I had this. It's all the particals that get caught in the motor.

If you undo the screws under the windscreen as mentioned in the previous post, you will see a metal box where the motor is located. I got a metal bar and wacked it a few times to knock the bits free whilst having the wipers going. Now all works fine!!
