Right then.. what happens when the MAF goes...


My maf stopped working.. then it's seemed to fix itself...

BUT....

My sisters JTD MAF has deffently gone... cos i dissconnected it yesterday and it went shed loads better... so i can conclude it needs a new 1.


heres the question....


If the MAF is connected, will it in all cases make the car go slow.. or can it act like it's no longer connected???


If the MAF is dissconnected, what are the problems that can be associated with this??


Should i dissconect her MAF untill I get her a new 1... and Has mine failed but it thinks its dissconnected, but it isn't.

With the MAF disconnected the ECU is guessing how much fuel to inject, it will go into limp home mode.

I was gonna ask the same thing disconnected mine today and felt no different. i would have expected a drop in performance if it worked properly.

well i've put a new MAF on my sisters car now.. and it's like it was with it dissconnected.. well maybe slightly more potent.. but no where near as bad as with the old 1 in.


Just makes me wonder.. do u really need the MAF in at all?

Would save loads of money, if all you had to do, was dissconnect it!!
