After getting quotes on alloy wheel repair (blasting and powder coating them) I'm thinking I may just fill the scuffs myself and repaint them (the repair places could never give me a straight answer as to whether they could powder coat my plastic centre caps to match)

Where would I find a paint code for 'Shadow Chrome' effect? Would anyone make it?

How similar would it be to the orignal (I'm assuming powder coated) finish of my Kosei racer's?

Normal powdercoat needs to be cured at 200degC, plastic doesn't usually survive that.

I've seen powdercoated plastic but its a heck of a risk and can't be done in a normal oven, its got to be infrared cured.

I'm currently trying to decide on a powdercoat colour for my wheels. Currently looking at:

Left: Gunmetal
Middle: Charcoal metalic
Right: 20% gloss (satin) black

Gun metal I think Tom. And after that you can do mine if you want? ;)

re

rage do a chrome paint that a body shop told me comes out more like black chrome than chrome?

the spokes of my alloy wheels are the same as the left one tom, if a little bit darker. mine are "graphite", black with a silver fleck.

May or may not be of any help.

Go to your local paint mixers and ask to look at RAL colour chips.

Most colours can be mixed in either cellulose or polyester base coat for spraying centre caps etc

The mix isn't usually spot on, but it's close enough.
