Does any1 know of a company that will fit a supercharger to my bravo hgt?

i would fit 1 myself if i know which 1 will fit. i know the 1 from the mini is recomended, right???
also how dose a supercharger work. i know the basics.

thanx

No and by pulley systen direct to teh crank, which is instant in comparisson o a turbo - ie no lag.

I get/got my alfa serviced regularly at a specialist in Wolverhampton. They were always foing something interesting to old and new. No harm in trying them WAD Auto developments in WOlverhampton. Try them!

I'm not so sure I would bother though, why not try a coupe turno engine or bette still buy a coupe turbo!

The bini supercharger struggled to do 160BHP on a 1.6 engine. Most upgrades to the bini require a new charger, hence the huge number on fleaybay.

re

you wouldnt! you'd very soon get bored and want more power!

Aint just as simple as strapping one on mate.

I've looked into this at length. Its perfectly feasible to install one, ideally in place of the air con pump on my hgt.

If I were to subject my mule to this ordeal, I would take the bhp up to 230bhp. If I ever wanted more than this (and I rather doubt I would, I could risk running it up to its max 14lb and potentially 280-300bhp).
You couldn't do this with your stock ECU or even a Dastek though.

If I had five years no claims and was debt free, I might consider a supercharger this summer. As it is I will not be able to afford to do it for at least two years, and I'm so fed up of my car being in the garage, I doubt very much I ever will.

It would envolve replacment of my stock ECU and dastek piggyback with a stand alone management system and I would need to replace many of my internals too. The Rotrex Supercharger would cost 1400, parts - forged pistons etc prob another 1500 + 800 for the new ECU and labour prob 1500+ with all the mapping. I would only trust Barbz at Torque Italia in London to carry out the work.

Go and buy a Suzuki GSXR1000.
159bhp
166kg
0.957hp per kg

Equivalent of a bravo having about 900-1000hp:)
and CONSIDERABLY cheaper than a Veyron.

For that money you might as well get a coupe turbo engine and get 220 right from day one and have it reliable.

compare like with like. a sports bike with a bravo huh?!

Just a joke lads, calm down.

Just that people are talking about getting bored with 160bhp and suggesting going for 250bhp etc, just saying "if you fancy a rush that you'll never tire of"

Second hand GSXR probably cheaper than 2nd hand coupe :)

Nah, your missing the point Tom.
The engine is the heart of a car.
I've no business taking the mules heart out if there's nothing wrong with it,
so a coupe conversion is out of the question.
Mine is a HGT and it always will be.

OK, just swap the internals, cyl head and external parts, the block will be the same :)

But Nico, you're HGT has a modified engine!
Whether you like it or not, it's no-longer a "normal" hgt as it was initially designed...

Just like to ask where you intend to find a clutch that can take 250+ BHP ;)

Yes Deano, it may be modified, but it still a HGT. Nowt wrong will helping it achieve its potential.
Only when you take the engine out and pimp it with summit else like a coupe lump does it cease to be a HGT.

Andy, the clutch used in 20VT is fine up to 250. There are then about 4 more options I could go for bhp ranging for 300+ and 400+ brake with multi-paddle design

But the n/a version of the coop also uses the same engine as the hgt!! So it's not exactly an "hgt-only" engine!

Swapping a 20VT engine (Taking the above fact in mind) for the hgt's almost seems like a given! At least you've got 220bhp (or 195 for the 16V) as a reliable standard.

Modded engines (generally) undergo more stresses than they were originally designed for. How do you know yours won't go up in smoke any time soon?

Not that i really mind though... It's all part of the discussion! Not meaning to offend anyone! :)

I'd wondered about that Tom. Why so?
Thought different ones again might be called for.

Its not about the spec of the engine Deano.
That particular engine belongs in that car, just as that car belongs to that engine. The mule is alive. Remove one from the other and it will kill my car. It then becomes just another motor ;)
