i have a Bravo HGT, i only have one blue key. the key also has a button for central locking and alarm.

i read i can clone the key relatively cheaply. is this true. and where??

if yes, how will the alarm system work with the new key??

finally, the existing alarm button works, BUT, when i activte or de-activate it, there are no hazard light flashes or anything, is this normal??

its only really new cars, or cars wth aftermarket alarms that flash your lights. thats quite normal.

Timpsons should be able to clone your key ok. They charge £25 for a normal fiat key with transponder, but i dont know what price for one that does remote locking/unlocking. I think fiat charge about £100 for one, so definately give Timpsons a try first!

nyone know a fiat key expert??

i have a x reg punto, timpsons and the ike cant help.

for my r reg hgt with alarm button, can get copy only but not with alarm button.

help !!

my lights never flashed before, but i recently had a new remote key made up for my car, cost £80 for the key and programming! lights now flash and car beeps!! makes it better because you know its locked it!! p.s all work was carried out by a fiat main dealer!

nirvana, id you have red key??

or did they mke it of a blue key??

red key as well, you cant have a new key cut without the red key!! the immobiliser code is in the red key!! to replace a red key will cost over £1000 as it will require a ECU! do you not have the red key???

iv read about this before on here. there must be people out there that can copy keys, even the new ones. and the remote fob.

anyone ??

'anyone know a fiat key expert??'

try your local fiat dealer. you were already told that Timpsons CAN clone a blue key, but not with a remote...

OR, get a timpsons one cut, and then for about £50 on ebay buy the remote central locking kit. replace your little yellow transponder (behind the glovebox) with the one they send you, and you'll get a little round button key (2 actually) to go on your car keys. thats your remote central locking sorted.

Total cost £75-£80

or just go to fiat and get a proper one cut for £80.

not to be too blunt, but i think this has all been said already in this thread???? also, is it a bravo HGT or a x reg punto you have? not that it matters too much, but this thread appears to be about both????

one last thing Laura, do you have a red key?

i reckon fiat will want to use that to program your ECU to accept a new key code, rather than clone your current key.
