indicator

when i put my indicator on somerimes it wont turn itsef off it just makes a loud cracking noise and stays on what could be the cause of the problem?
it has done this from about 6 months of ownership (2001 y reg 1.2)

The pin in the stalk that turns back the indicator switch, either slips sometimes or is going/gone broke.
Nothing to worry about, just use your hands

and how do i fix this problem?
can i just replace pin? or need a new stalk?
also what are likley costs ££ as cash is not good at the moment, xmas and all

Fiat charges too much, you can get it from a scrappy. The pin isnt reparable - not sure tho
