i got a pioneer sub with a built in amp

and i also have a separate sony amp and separte sub

now i dont want to buy a new head unit

instead i prob will get hold of the standard mk1 grundig cd changer
or a difff cd changer with a connector

but the question is can i wire this sub+amp to the factory fit audio with the car???

if so how
as factory wiring seems to me a bit a different as to whn you do it yourself

awaiting your reply people!!!

some amps have a high input which can be connected to the speaker output however your better with a head unit with an amp out imo

i havent fitted a systme before
but defo want to keep the car in the standard order as in keeping the same audio

if i take the system out will there be an easy way to connect the amp leads to the current system?

does ur amp have a high level input?

if not don't disspare, Auto leads do a converter.

You wire the rear speaker into the amp and hey presto it works.

Where abouts in the country are u?? Im sure if some1's close they can pop by and give u some visual advice :)

look at the connectors on your amps, if it is a 2 channel amp you will have atleast;

+12V terminal.
0V or ground terminal.
switching lead terminal.
4 terminals for speakers (2+ve and 2-ve).
two RCA connectors (one red and one white)

You may also have;

- High input, normally a 4 pin connector, if you have one of these your amp probably came with a short lead for it, if you do have one of these you can, as tommy said, connect it to the speaker wires from your head unit. If it doesn't have one, again as tommy says, there are converters available to go from your speaker wires to RCA. Never used one, no idea how good they are.

- a gain dial, think of it a bit like an extra volume control just for the speaker running from the amp

- low pass filter, may be a dial or switch, this allows low frequencies (ie your bass) to pass but blocks high frequencies, the freqency which it starts to block at is set by the dial.

- high pass filter, opposite of above

- bass boost, pretty obvious!

on the pioneer active bass box you put a link to.. the connector under the Left channel RCA (the white round socket next to the red round socket with L under it) looks like the high level imput.

Pop into halfords or motorworld, tell them ur interested in a sub & amp.. and get them to explain how to wire it up :)

Don't tell them u've already bought it, cos they'll tell u to bugger off, or sell u stuff u don't need!

The speaker was bought cheap, so hence no instructions....
the pioneers with the built in amp, as a different cconection , and the amp leads i bought dont fit,
it looks like i might need a sort of a terminal conection, and i have look all over ebay and have not found any amp lead sets which will be able to fit this pioneer sub...
i will be putting a piture of the conection area so you understand what i mean...
i already tried with halfords and there werent much help, the manager was really stuck up...
i live close by ealing so if anyone around this area wil be generous enough to show me how it is done, i will be grateful for there help....

THIS IS THE PICTURE OF THE CONECTION PORT ON THE PIONEER SUB WITH BUILT IN AMP, SORRY ABOUT PIC, IT WAS TAKENBY MY CAMERA PHONE....

right.. seriously simple.. go to ur local motor factor and ask for a High level to RCA converter!

Autoleads supply them...

PC1-601
High to Low Speaker line out
Converter. Female RCA.
Low Power
