Thermostat Change

Hi everyone

I need to change my thermostat on the HGT because this cold weather has pointed out that my temps aren't getting much higher than 2 notches on the gauge and the heater only warms up when sat in traffic for more than 5 minutes.

Problem is I've looked all over the engine but can't seem to find where the thing is.

Can anyone point it out to me please.

its between the battery and the engine on the 1.6 think its in the same place on the 2.0 i would try cleaning up the eletrical connectors first and make sure there isnt an airlock in the cooling system.

How do you check if there is an airlock and how do you fix it as I have the same problem on my 1.2 sx?
