For those who have changed the back box by chopping it off and adding an aftermarket/universal exhaust...

Where did you get the box from?

Did it line up ok and hook up with the rubber hooks from the car, etc?

How did you attach it to the pipe? Exhaust sealant?

Easy or not?

Kinda thinking I might change the appearance at the rear of my car but don't wanna shell out on anything too fancy like a full exhaust system as its cosmetic only. If anyone suggests I get an Abarth chrome outlet, I will slap them :p

Any help appreciated :)

I suggested the one dave bought from ebay! its a matter of cutting your old exhaust off from the pipe just behind the backbox then gettin brackets fabricated and welded on the universal box to match the rubber holders on the bravo then its a case of also gettin sum exhaust pipe fabrictaed then welded to fit with the old pipe! and decent garage should be able 2 do it for about £30-£40!

I changed mine myself. The new one already came with a strap thing round it to hang it by, so no welding was necessary. I needed 12" of extra straight pipe too, to join the exhaust to the straightest bit I could find to join it to underneath, and everything's held with clamps and exhaust putty.

I realise the best way would eb to get someone to weld it in place, but I figured I'd rather have it removable if I decided I didn't like it!

Not too pretty underneath, but then nor would welding!

How did you attach it to the last rubber hook/bung near the bumper Ben? Did the box have something welded on already or did you make summat up yourself?

(Nice one Nathan! Thanks!)

The exhaust already came with a strip of chrome round it to hang it by.

Here's a filthy pic straight off the car right now:
