Have got a nasty 10-12 inch scratch down the rear drivers panel on my Sassi Grey HGT ! Have tried to sort it with a kit from Halfords but made a botch of it..
Anyone know how much I might be lookin at or do you think a 'mobile scratch repair' might do it..?

how deep is the scratch, have u got a pic?

The scratch has gone thro to the white paint, width wise its very thin, almost like the thickness of a pen mark, its just the halfords stuff was sassi grey too like the car but just looks crap, especially on a sunny day.

Have you tried to 'cut' the new paint into the old.

Do you have any t-cut handy? (or even better some cutting compound)

How long ago did you paint it? (as i guess if you t-cut it too soon it will take it all off)

if the colour isnt the same it dont matter how much t cut or cutting compound you use all you ens up doing is rubbing through to the promer trust me i know

the only way to fix it properly is to respray the pannel then blend the wings in to achieve a good colour match! ur looking in the region of £200-£250 at a body shop!

you could go the cheep route and just spray the panel but it will allways show up a slightly different colour

I used to do smart repairs to cars a few years ago and my trick was to use a slightly darker shade rather than blending a light shade across half the car. All depends on who mixes the paint, check my updated pic's, i believe i got a good match.
