Options i want...
Good quality camera
Video recorder/player

At least 256mb or slot for memory card

Sony Ericssons are crap as a phone though...try to call anyone and the sound quality is appauling!!
Mines being upgraded on the monday and ill be going for a Nokia 6230i and because its a nokia it wont break like every other phone ive had in the past 2 years (Siemens SL55, 02 X3)

Nokia 6680

Knocks the rest in to a cocked hat and is 3G too.

I've had mine for a few months now and it's brilliant, as are all Nokia Symbian based phones. The Symbian OS means it is extremely flexible and there is shed loads of software available for it, making the phone completely customizable and suitable to your needs.

The camera is superb, the screen is the brightest and clearest I have seen and the battery life is excellent. It has an excellent MP3 player with stereo headphones/handsfree kit. Bluetooth enabled with the ability for multiple connections. It uses dual voltage RS-MMC cards and can accept all sizes. I run a 256MB at the moment.

I use this phone all day, every day and I run TomTom Mobile 5 with it too. Can't do that with a Sony Ericcson ;)

The OS is themeable and is fast and stable.

I have a Vodafone 3G contract at £40 per month which includes 500 minutes, 100 texts, 75 minutes of video calls and you have Stop The Clock too (evenings and weekends, pay for the first 3 minutes, the next 57 are free...do this as often as you like). Plus free stuff like free access to various parts of Vodafone Live.

If I'm right, you're running a 7610 at the moment ? Imagine that on steroids, able to do all that it can and more, yet is completely back compatible with it :)

Need I go on ? ;)

Rob

For video calling as it is 3g compatible...so u dont look like a tit trying 2 take a pic of ureself when video calling

It doesn't have a radio, but you can stream live radio using the 3G capability :) Virgin have a dedicated program for it. I use it and it's very good :)

Rob

If 3G is active in your area...im in Lincoln which is hardly out in the sticks and theres no 3G up here :(

Who told you that ?!?!?!

That's Hobbit country up there LOL ;)

Rob

yup 3G phone... or a house brick!!

Wots the point in having a 3G phone when u wont use the 3G features!!

Plus u have to pay for streaming music.. when a radio is FREEEEE!!!

Trust me.. the sony w800i is amazing!!

Friend at works just got 1... its great!!

SonyEricsson's are good phones!

Go test drive a few!

FM Radio or podcast ? I know which I prefer ;)

And the 6680 is hardly a brick. At least you don't mash the keypad when you use it ! ;)

Here's an example of the excellent camera...

Gd camera...bet one or too pics that size soons fills the memory though!

That pic is 446K at a resolution of 1280x960. With a 256MB card, you can get loads on :)

Although I bluetooth them over to the PC for safe storage, leaving me bucket loads of memory for everything else. The Camera also has a flash with variable settings, 6x Digital zoom and excellent exposure settings.

Rob

I second the Nokia 6680 :)

I went from a K700i which is basically a K750i and im glad I did. Its hardly a brick, its only slightly larger than my old K700i.

Factors like satnav and the actual internet, rather than WAP, make me very happy I chose the 6680.

Well just got back from the shop, tried most of the ones mentioned, but have chosen (sorry Rob) the W800i, apart from the k750i as the girl in the shop said it has the same internals as the w800i.

Mainly for 2 reasons...

The mp3 player was much better quality than all the rest (plus the fact it has 3.5mm jack which i can use my own very good quality headphones).

The camera was better quality (on the phones screen), than the others, even thought the 6680 was very close.

Some more swinging factors, i got a free USB bluetooth dongle, plus as they did not have the phone in stock i got a bluetooth headset for £30 (rrp £79.99), which cost me nothing as i got £30 cashback :)

Plus i have 28 days to change my mind, so if it turns out to be pants, i can switch (probably) to the Nokia 6680.

Thanks for all you input guys, much appriciated.

Good Man!

I got the D750i (essentially the same as the W800i and the k750i, but t-mobile branded) the only difference being the W800i is Sony Walkman Branded, comes with a bigger card (so you can out more MP3's on) and has flight mode to turn off phone capabilities.

I love it! It does everything you could want, as easily as you could want it.

if you want goodies for it, themes, etc, have a look at eseth.net They've got loads of stuff (though obviously the forum isn't as busy as our favourite one!)
